About me
Yi-Chi Cheng was born in Taipei, Taiwan on August 29, 1991. Since she was a young child, she has been interested in biology and animals.
Yi-Chi Cheng started her Animal Science and Biotechnology undergraduate program at Tunghai University (THU) in Taichung. During her time at THU, she was involved in the student association being a leader of the activities department.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Yi-Chi Cheng worked in the swine industry as a salesperson for two years. It was an excellent opportunity for her to learn marketing and farm work.
Yi-Chi Cheng joined Dr. Sung Woo Kim’s lab in Animal Science at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2018 starting her Master’s program and switching to Ph.D. program in 2019. Her research has predominantly focused on pig nutrition and microorganisms.
During her Ph.D. program, Yi-Chi Cheng attended international conferences four times and published two peer-reviewed papers. She has enjoyed her research and improved scientific training at NCSU.
Upon completing her Ph.D. degree, Yi-Chi Cheng will continue her passion and professions in the academy and animal industry.
